Levada Trail Faial

Trail description

PR03 FAI, an easy linear 7.6 km walk of about 2 hours 30 minutes from Cabeço dos Trinta near Capelo to Alto do Chão above Cedros, following a levada inaugurated in 1964 at about 680 m that carried water to a hydroelectric plant. It runs through laurel forest with clearings over the volcanic cones of the Capelo complex; a short detour leads to a tunnel into Cabeço dos Trinta.
