Trail description

Lochnagar is a magnificent granite mountain on the royal Balmoral estate with a great cliff-ringed corrie holding a dark lochan. This route climbs from the north past the Gelder Shiel stable and the Bill Stuart Memorial onto the summit plateau, then over Cac Càrn Mòr to the top of Cac Càrn Beag. Celebrated in verse and painting, it is a Cairngorm classic.
