Trail description
From Rydal Road car park in Ambleside, the route leaves the Kirkstone road and follows the long southern ridge over Snarker Pike to the summit of Red Screes. The fell stands 776 m high above Kirkstone Pass. Red Screes Tarn, a small permanent pool, lies just south of the summit, and the view down the eastern face to the Kirkstone Inn is spectacular.
