Trail Description
A 2.4 km climb in Bear Butte State Park near Sturgis from the education center on the summit trail, the northern end of the 111-mile Centennial Trail, to the top of Bear Butte (1,344 m), Matȟó Pahá or Bear Mountain to the Lakota and a religious site for the Plains tribes. The trail is open from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset, and pets are not allowed because it is too narrow.
