Trail description

A steep 2.3 km climb of about 400 m from the Glen Alps trailhead to the summit of Flattop Mountain (1,070 m) in Chugach State Park, just east of Anchorage. It is the most climbed mountain in Alaska, and the usual trail gains 390 m in 2.4 km to the summit plateau, with a harder trail from there to the peak. The mountain is known for its panoramic views of Anchorage, and Denali, Mount Foraker and Mount Spurr can sometimes be seen on very clear days.
