Flying Mountain

Trail description

From the Flying Mountain trail parking on Fernald Point Road in Acadia National Park the Flying Mountain Trail climbs a short, steep slope to the open top of Flying Mountain (87 m). The ledges look over the entrance to Somes Sound, Southwest Harbor and the Cranberry Isles. Many walkers go on down to Valley Cove and back along the shore of the sound.
