Trail Description

A short 1.3 km climb of about 125 m from the Park Loop Road to the summit of Gorham Mountain on Mount Desert Island, in Acadia National Park. The one-way loop road passes Gorham Mountain on the island's east side between Sand Beach and Thunder Hole. Acadia covers about half of Mount Desert Island and is known for its exposed granite domes, glacial erratics and cobble beaches. It also holds Cadillac Mountain, the tallest mountain on the Atlantic coast of the United States.
