Trail description

A 7.8 km climb on the Mailbox Peak Trail, completed in 2014, to the summit of Mailbox Peak (4,841 ft / 1,476 m), seven miles east of North Bend. The trail gains about 4,000 ft (1,200 m) and joins the old route for the steep final half mile; the peak is named after the mailbox on top that serves as the summit register. It is one of the most frequent search and rescue locations in King County, mostly for dehydration, leg cramps, falls and hikers caught out after dark.
