Trail description
A loop on the Honolulu Mauka Trail System from the Hawai'i Nature Center in Makiki: up the steep Maunalaha Trail over roots and rocks, across the valley on the Makiki Valley Trail over several small streams, and back down along Kanealole Stream past labelled native plants. The forest mixes eucalyptus, swamp mahogany and native trees. Stream rocks are slippery. Streams on this trail rise fast in heavy rain: never cross a flooded stream.
