Trail description
A 4.8 km climb of about 340 m from the Mowich Lake road to the fire lookout on Tolmie Peak, in the north-west corner of Mount Rainier National Park. The peak rises to over 1,800 m about 3.2 km north-west of Mowich Lake, with Eunice Lake lying in a glacier-carved basin just to its south. Streams from its slopes feed the Carbon River, which flows on to the Puyallup River and Puget Sound. It is named for William Fraser Tolmie of the Hudson's Bay Company, who made the first recorded exploration of the Mount Rainier area in August 1833.
