Trail description

A 4.4 km walk from the Chisos Basin trailhead down the Window Trail through Oak Creek Canyon to the Window pour-off in Big Bend National Park. The Window frames a wide view of the desert, and in wet periods a seasonal waterfall drops 220 ft down the west side of the Chisos Mountains; Oak Creek may then have to be crossed several times. It is an easy walk down but a climb of about 1,000 ft back, and the rock at the ledge of the Window is extremely slippery, where a fall would be fatal.
